The Round House

This eye-catching thatched building forms auxiliary accommodation to a Grade II listed home.

We constructed a bespoke green oak frame for the new house which is exposed internally. The wall plates and sole plates were specifically selected from curved Scottish oaks and are 6 metres in length. The whole frame was built on site including the oak rafters and eyebrow domes and thatched in long locally sourced straw.

Internally the ground floors are clad in terracotta hand made tiles which accompany a hand built Ash kitchen. There are luxury bathrooms with limestone and slate finishes.

The central section has a bespoke staircase of metal and oak construction and a stunning glass roof light situated above.
